the steady patter of rain.  it is comforting and refreshes the mind.  it crescendos abruptly, then tapes to a metered trot.

back in action...

A long run along a well-worn path can be medicine to the soul.  Sometimes the distance can be all too short.  The body is weakened and pained by the harsh impact, but it can be addictive.  The steps can become mechanical, but the thoughts in mind never fail to soar freely.

lately it seems like people are flying and going around all over the place.  new things to see, new people to meet, new work to do, new food to eat.....hopefully good food.  i think it's interesting to think about the balance between home-sweet-home and the urge to see and explore.  to journey to a distance far away and be an anonymous fixture can be as exciting as it is lonely.  staying home is comfy.  yet that restlessness may begin to stir.  or perhaps it is the call of responsibility that pulls us beyond our comfort.  coming home is that much better once being far away.
